Plum Park Manor
Mr & Mrs Hardie
- Plum Park Manor, Northamptonshire
I was truly delighted to go to Plum Park Manor in picturesque Northamptonshire, for two reasons: Tom and Katie were getting married there (most important reason!) and I had never been to the venue before. I was stunned when I arrived, not just because it is so impressive, but because I was thrilled that Tom and Katie had chosen such a fantastic venue for their big day. With so many perfect backdrops, there wouldn’t be any problems finding locations for that perfect shot!
Plum Park Manor – A Stunning Victorian Wedding Venue
Plum Park Manor is a Victorian Manor house, surrounded by parkland and delightfully curated gardens, providing an ideal backdrop for Tom and Katie’s big day. The August sun was on its best behaviour as the day’s proceedings were eternally bathed in glorious sunshine, which the guests were able to take full advantage of and enjoy amidst the beautifully manicured terraces that ran along the Manor.
When it came time for the ceremony, it didn’t quite feel like stepping indoors as we entered the elegant orangery, with windows all around and a large lantern window for the roof – just above two impressive chandeliers finishing the scene. Gloriously colourful flowers were abundant throughout the ceremony. The bridal party in pinks and the bride in white, truly enhanced the beauty of the day with their stunning arrangements. Colour, happiness, joy and character were everywhere to be seen. This serene setting was the ideal spot for a beautifully meaningful ceremony, before the happy couple walked outdoors again and into a shower of confetti!
A Surprise Singing Waiter Steals the Show
The great character and fun of the day was further emphasised when a hapless waiter fell to the floor smashing plates – only to be revealed as a singer! The tuneful waiter didn’t take long before he had the guests on their feet, singing along, waving their napkins in the air – all before a full throated conga around the delightful marquee style room. It added some extra spice and heat to a very warm day, as guests enjoyed singing and dancing the day away! It was then on to speeches! How to follow that? Well… they did. The mother of the bride and the two best men used the energy that sing-song had created to ensure that their speeches were moving, sincere and cracking with emotions.
The summer’s warm embrace ensured that the evening’s entertainment could take place indoors, with a funky band entertaining all with great tunes, but equally an opportunity to take their drinks outdoors to mingle, chat and enjoy the sensation of a beautiful day, well enjoyed by all who were there.
