Thorpe Garden
Mr & Mrs Williams
- Thorpe Garden, Staffordshire
Another first for me, visiting the spectacular Thorpe Garden wedding venue in Staffordshire. This gem of a venue is amazing – set amongst a 2-acre Victorian walled garden, it’s a purpose-built wedding destination that feels both intimate and grand. Simon and Kerri picked wisely with this eco-friendly haven of wildlife and stunning gardens. Although the day had threatened the possibility of an outdoor wedding, it behaved impeccably and the skies cleared to allow for this beautiful ceremony.
A Picture-Perfect Garden Wedding Setting
The setting for this venue is picture perfect. A beautiful walled garden, home to so many different colourful flowers, trimmed trees and ornamental landscaping. The ceremony was to be outdoors on the exquisitely manicured lawns. Nature was very much the order of the day as wild and garden flowers were everywhere, popping proceedings with splashes of amazing colours (both outdoors and indoors!). The Bride’s bouquet was a dazzling array of colours that offset her stunning wedding dress perfectly.
The sun decided not just to put his hat on, but to turn up the heat as the happy couple were able to exchange their vows in the blistering sun! Sun cream at the ready…
After the happy couple were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and setting, with an array of photographs, guests were guided into the impressive Yurt for the reception. This building is a breathtaking structure that Simon and Kerri had decorated expertly. Every table had plenty of hand-picked flowers to help compliment, not just the season, but the occasion!
Soaking Up the Summer Sun on the Terraces at Thorpe Garden
The speeches were a hit, a loving and touching speech from the bride’s father and the best man double act helping to raise many smiles and create several chuckles throughout. The weather continued to bring its glorious summer best and so after the meal was gratefully and happily consumed, there was scope for everyone to enjoy the sun on the terraces, set amongst box trees and beautiful flower beds.
Guests enjoyed the warmth of the summer sun as the bride and groom mingled on the terraces and soaked up the jovial and jubilant atmosphere their union had created. As the sun began to descend slightly lower in the crystal blue sky, the DJ beckoned everyone indoors to demonstrate and display their dancing prowess. This they did with great energy and style!
This venue is warm, relaxed, natural and welcoming. The happy couple picked a venue that reflected them and it made for a truly wonderful occasion. Everyone, myself included, had an amazing day!

Some kind words from the couple
“From the moment we met Tommy we felt completely at ease. For a groom who wasn’t excited about photos, I couldn’t be happier – not just with his work, but with him as a person. He helped structure our day, made guests feel comfortable and ensured everything ran smoothly. He felt like a huge part of our wedding. The only negative? He didn’t wear sun cream on the hottest day of the year! You won’t regret booking him – a great photographer and a top bloke.”
